Rush Specialty Hospital Takes 30th Place In 2023 Countdown

We continue our 2023 countdown with the 30th place going to the Rush Specialty Hospital at 516 S Loomis Street in Little Italy. Located on the northwest corner of the intersection with W Harrison Street, the building is receiving its final touches as construction quickly wraps up prior to winter. The project is a collaboration between the Rush University System and Select Medical, with GWG3 Architecture working on its design.

Zoning Variances Approved for 4640 N Western Avenue in Lincoln Square

The Zoning Board of Appeals has approved three variances for a new mixed-use development at 4640 N Western Avenue in Lincoln Square. This $26.7 million initiative developed by Macon Construction and designed by Hirsch MPG will involve a new six-story mixed-use building alongside the renovation of a 1920s-era, four-story building to the north. There will be a total 74 residential units and 3,900 square feet of retail space on the ground floor.

Initial Details Revealed For Mixed-Use High-Rise in Near North Side

Initial details have been revealed for a mixed-use development at 1565 N Clybourn Avenue in Near North Side. Sitting on the northeastern corner of the intersection with N Halsted Street, the proposal was announced in a recent newsletter from second ward alderman Brian Hopkins. The project is being developed by New York-based The Georgetown Company, though an architect is currently unknown.

Excavation Begins for 1630 S Wabash Avenue in South Loop

Excavation is now underway for a 12-story apartment building at 1630 South Wabash Avenue in South Loop. This residential development, undertaken by CMK Companies, will house a total of 149 rental units. The building will be located on a previously vacant lot just east of the elevated CTA tracks. Its foundation and partial superstructure received a permit in late October, while the full construction permit is still pending.
