An official grand opening has been held for the residential tower at 1000 S Michigan in the South Loop known as 1000M. Sitting along the famed avenue and across the street from Grant Park, the tower replaced a vacant lot and cantilevers over its shorter neighbor. Efforts on the skyscraper were led by Time Equities, Inc., JK Equities, and Oak Capitals, who were all in attendance at the ceremony.
Potential partial funding has been announced for the affordable housing development at 1237 N California Avenue in West Town. Located on the intersection with W Crystal Street and across the street from Humboldt Park itself, the project will be replacing a now vacant lot. Efforts are being led by the Hispanic Housing Development Corporation with local-firm DesignBridge working on its design.
The Chicago Community Development Commission has approved initial financing for some of the first LaSalle Street Reimagined projects to move forward. While four projects were presented at yesterday’s meeting, we will be covering the first two today. Those include the proposals at 30 N LaSalle Street and 79 W Monroe Street all within The Loop.
Updated details have been revealed for the mixed-use development at 4006 N Sheridan Road in Buena Park. Located on the northwest corner with W Irving Park Road, the proposal would replace the famed Holiday Club and multiple multi-unit structures. The project is being led by developer Catapult Real Estate Solutions with Built Form LLC working on its design.
Construction is quickly wrapping up on Milwaukee’s newest high-rise The Couture at 909 E Michigan Street in downtown. Located on the intersection with N Lincoln Memorial Drive across from the lakefront and art museum, the building replaced the previous Downtown Transit Center. The project is being led by Barrett Lo Visionary Development with Milwaukee-based RINKA Architecture working on its design.
