ALLY at 1229 W Concord Begins Ascent as Chicago’s 30th Tallest Development

Claiming the 30th spot in Chicago YIMBY’s year-end countdown, Sterling Bay’s ALLY at 1229 W Concord Place is now rising above grade along the North Branch Corridor. The structure will be oriented toward medical research companies, offering 280,000 square feet of Class A medical research lab space and attached conference and creative office space. The 144-foot-tall edifice serves as the first step in the developer’s 55-acre Lincoln Yards masterplan, set to yield nearly 15 million square feet of mixed-use programming at a projected cost of $6 billion.

Details Revealed For Community Center At 1219 W 87th Street In Auburn Gresham

Plans have been filed with the Committee on Zoning for a new community and youth center at 1219 W 87th Street in Auburn Gresham. Sitting just southeast of the corner with S Elizabeth Street, the new center will partially replace an existing one-story building which was recently purchased by the Progressive Beulah Pentecostal Church after a lengthy fundraising campaign. The new structure is being designed by local design firm Blue Lines Architecture with general contractor Praxis Construction Inc out of Wheeling.

The Chicago City Council approved the rezoning for a new residential development at 1545 W Thomas Street in Noble Square. Located just south from the Polish Triangle intersection of N Ashland Avenue, W Division Street, and N Milwaukee Avenue, The new multi-unit building will replace an existing two-story home on the site. Presidential Towers Go Grayscale at 555 W Madison Street in West Loop Gate

One of Chicago’s more common high-rise colors is the omnipresent beige that can be seen in large herds clustered in areas like River North and West Loop Gate. We recently looked at 600 N Dearborn in River North, where The Farallon’s owners have been repainting its exterior walls from a tan-like tone to a cooler dark gray. As seen in recent photos, the Presidential Towers at 555 W Madison Street in West Loop Gate have been receiving a similar treatment. All four of the 49-story, 461-foot-tall towers are transitioning to a medium-gray paint job along most of the exterior walls, as well as a secondary dark-gray at the base and top.
