Finishing Touches Underway at Lake Shore East’s 101-Story Vista Tower

Work is wrapping up at Vista Tower, a 101-story mixed-use building in Lake Shore East. The tower’s bold design is the work of Studio Gang Architects. The Chicago-based firm led by renowned architect Jeanne Gang also designed the planned O’Hare terminal and the nearby Aqua Tower.

Zoning Approved for Residential Development at 1512 W Ohio Street in West Town

The Zoning Committee has approved the zoning for a new four-story residential development at 1512 W Ohio Street in West Town. Located on an interior lot along W Ohio Street, between N Ashland Avenue and N Armour Street. Within a two-minute walk from the site is the Route 9 bus, accessed at the Ashland and Erie stop. The Ashland CTA L station, serviced by the Green and Pink Lines, can be accessed via an 11-minute walk. 1512 W Ohio LLC is in charge of the development.

Permits were recently issued for a four-story residential building in Noble Square, just south of Milwaukee Avenue. The structure will replace a three-story brick building, and will also have a masonry exterior.

Permits have been issued for a four-story residential building at 133 S Ashland Avenue in the West Loop. Located on a corner lot, the project will rise on the northeastern corner of the intersection at S Ashland Avenue and W Adams Street. The nearest public transportation is the CTA Route 9, accessed at the Ashland and Adams bus stop, located directly onsite. The Ashland CTA L station, serviced by the Green and Pink Lines, is a nine-minute walk away. 133 Ashland Land LLC is the owner of the project, with Tom Meador as the manager. The developer is reporting a total cost of $10,000,000.

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved a new five-story residential development at 5440 N Sheridan Road in Edgewater. The interior lot sits along N Sheridan Road between W Catalpa Avenue and W Balmoral Avenue. Multiple CTA bus routes, including the 136, 147, 151 lines, can be accessed at the corner of N Sheridan Road and W Catalpa Avenue, within a two-minute walk from the site. The Bryn Mawr CTA L station, serviced by the Red Line, is a seven-minute walk away. Cedar St. Companies is the developer, using 5440 N Sheridan Property Owner LLC as the LLC for the project.
