Initial details have been revealed for the expansion of Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Streeterville. Located at 333 East Huron Street, at the corner of North Fairbanks Court, the new tower would replace a long-vacant grassy lot in the heart of the neighborhood. It will be situated across the street from the Feinberg Pavilion and the research tower completed in 2019.
Initial details have been revealed for the new plans concerning the northern portion of the former Lincoln Yards site near Goose Island. Dubbed Foundry Park, the new development will focus on residential use with shorter structures. It will now be led by local developer JDL, who is on track to purchase the land.
The Chicago Community Development Commission has approved TIF funds for the mixed-use redevelopment of part of the Central Manufacturing District on the southern edge of McKinley Park. Located at 1769 West Pershing Road, near the neighborhood’s namesake park, the two-building project has been in development for several years.
Another new tower crane will soon adorn the Fulton Market sky, as the base has been planted for a rig at 370 North Morgan. A permit to set a foundation for the crane was issued way back in January, calling for a free standing Potain MD509 – M20 unit. The base section and its distinct red color are barely visible above the top of the housing built around it as protection from passing construction equipment. It will rise from the northwest corner of the site, at the intersection of Carpenter and Kinzie Streets.
The Chicago Community Development Commission has approved TIF funds for the residential redevelopment of the former Pioneer Arcade building in Humboldt Park. Located at 1539 North Pulaski Road, the landmarked two-story structure sits just south of the former Pioneer Bank, which has had its own redevelopment in the works since 2021.
