Site prep has begun for a new multi-family residential development at 453 West Briar Place in Lake View. The five-story, six-unit condominium project is being built by Chicago’s GVP Development. They got a new construction permit back on May 21 for the property. And now, dirt is being ushed around in anticipation of getting foundation work started, which was permitted separately in November of 2023.
A three-story, two-unit luxury condominium building at 840 West Lill Avenue in Lincoln Park continues to make rapid progress toward completion. The previous residence on the site, a single-family farmhouse that was built in 1860 and sold in May of this year, was demolished in July, with work on the new homes getting started before August began.
Details have been revealed for the residential development at 2212 S Leavitt Street within the Lower West Side. Sitting just south of the intersection with W Cermak Road, the proposal will replace an existing surface parking lot just west of Pilsen. The project is being led by Teo Scorte of Green Street Property Management.
The Chicago Committee on Zoning has approved the elderly residential development at 5300 S Calumet Avenue in Washington Park. Sitting on the corner with E 53rd Street, the proposal will replace a vacant lot across the street from another property owned by its developers The Renaissance Collaborative (TRC).
Ground-level construction progress continues for 3605 North Ravenswood in North Center. There will be 52 rental units across the six-story building (five stories plus rooftop access to the sixth-floor amenity deck) with 5,500 square feet of retail space at ground level. Co-developers Stocking Urban and Macon Construction Group, who is also the general contractor, plan to welcome their first tenants in the fall of 2025.
