Construction has commenced on the new home of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church at 6248 S Stewart Avenue in Englewood. Located just north of the intersection with W 63rd Street, the new structure will provide the congregation with a new home after their historical church building burnt down in 2022 during maintenance work.
A 1903-built residence at 2924 South Loomis Street in Bridgeport is being doubled in size, thanks to an addition on its side yard next door. The existing three-story multi-unit building is also being renovated as part of the ongoing project. Prairie Home Builders is the general contractor.
Initial details have been revealed for a new mixed-use facility for the Illinois Basketball Academy at 1800 W Lake Street in the northern edge of the Near West Side. Bound by N Wood Street to the east and N Wolcott Avenue to the west, the block-long structure will be replacing a one-story commercial building and a large vacant lot.
The Greenview Collection, a row of three stand-alone, single-family homes spanning 4454-4458 North Greenview Avenue in Uptown, appears very close to being move-in ready. We’ve been following progress here since the former First Spanish Christian Church was demolished in January to clear the site for redevelopment. Longford Construction is both the developer and general contractor here. Stoneberg + Gross Architects designed the homes.
Details have been revealed as funding has been initially approved for a new shelter at 2508 W 21st Street in Little Village. Located just east of the intersection with S Rockwell Street, the shelter will redevelop an existing industrial building sitting next to the elevated rail embankments. Efforts for the project are being led by Franciscan Outreach with LBBA serving as the architects.
