Foundation work has begun on a four-story, 31-unit residential development on the site of a former Burger King in Wrigleyville. The City of Chicago issued a New Construction permit for the new project with the address of 3951 N Wayne Avenue.
Vivify Construction is both the developer and general contractor for the building, which will include 31 parking spaces and deck up on the roof. The design is by Axios Architects.
The Burger King, at 1323 W Irving Park Road, was issued a demolition permit on January 29 of this year. KLF Enterprises was the demo contractor.
Residents of 3951 N Wayne are within a block of the #9 Ashland and X9 Ashland Express, the 22 Clark, and 80 Irving Park buses. A five-block walk east leads to CTA Sheridan Red Line trains. A slightly longer walk to the west leads to the Irving Park Brown Line platform.

Another suburban driver-thru bites the dust. Good Riddance
I don’t think too many people will miss the distinctive BK stink either.
Slowly but surely healing the city wounds of the past. It’s absurd how much land this former Burger king took up for parking and zero housing for a low margin chain. We need to incentivize more of this through credits and taxes.
