Demolition Pending for 800 W Lake Street, Site of Future 21-Story Hotel in Fulton Market

Demolition permits were issued last month clearing the way for a 21-story hotel at 800 W Lake Street, located near the heart of the booming Fulton Market neighborhood. The new structure will rise to 265 feet at its roof, replacing three low-rise masonry buildings and parking lot space. Planned by North Park Ventures, the yet-to-be-named hotel will provide space for 476 rooms, as well as ground-floor commercial space.

Grade Level Work Underway at 210-240 S Green Street in the West Loop Collection

Grade level work continues for a six-story condominium building that will be the fourth in a five-building complex known as West Loop Collection. Developed by POGN Development and located just outside of Greektown, the project will provide a total of 40 units. The official addresses lie at 210-240 S Green Street.

Permits Issued for 6335-37 S Ellis Avenue in Woodlawn

Construction permits have been issued for two adjacent residential buildings located 6335-37 S Ellis Avenue in Woodlawn. The owner, filed under Jack Properties LLC, is planning for each of the three-story buildings to house three units and be accompanied by a three-car concrete parking pad in the rear. Currently the overall site is occupied by a vacant lot.

Elm 551 Receives Additional Facade Treatment in Near North Side

The residential complex known as Elm 551 is nearing exterior completion at 551 W Elm Street in Near North Side. Developed by Holsten Real Estate, the project comprises of a seven-story residential building, as well as a pair of three-story townhome buildings. The mixed-income development will house 102 units and is part of a larger redevelopment scheme known as Parkside of Old Town.

Permits Issued for 3348 N Ashland Avenue in Lake View

Construction permits have been issued for a four-story residential building located at 3348 N Ashland Avenue in Lake View. The owner, filed under Kyle Nikolich, is planning four units, a rooftop deck, a two-car garage, and additional outdoor parking stalls. The project will replace a 3.5-story frame structure with a masonry base.

St. Regis Chicago Claims Second Spot in Year-End Countdown

Final exterior touches remain near the base of St. Regis Chicago (formerly Vista Tower), a 101-story mixed-use skyscraper at 375 E Wacker Drive in Lakeshore East. Developed by Magellan Group, the tower reaches 1,191 feet in height, claiming the second spot in Chicago YIMBY’s end-of-year countdown and garnering “supertall” status at over 984 feet.

Renderings Revealed for Residential Development at 4600 N Marine Drive in Uptown

Renderings have been revealed for a proposed residential development located at 4600 N Marine Drive in Uptown. Poised to replace an existing parking lot, the building will rise at the intersection of N Marine Drive and W Wilson Avenue. Lincoln Property Company is the developer behind the proposal.

Zoning Approved for 2024 W Irving Park Road in North Center

The Zoning Board of Appeals has approved a new ordinance clearing the way for a four-story mixed-use building at 2024 W Irving Park Road in North Center. The owner Sewickley, LLC is planning for ground-floor retail with 12 condominium units above.

One Chicago Square Takes Third Place In End-of-Year Countdown

Structural work is nearly two-thirds complete on the 74- and 49-story towers that comprise JDL‘s massive One Chicago Square mixed-use development, located near the northeast corner of River North. Set to reach 971 and 574 feet to their respective pinnacles, the taller eastern tower takes third place in Chicago YIMBY’s end-of-year development countdown.

Zoning Approved for 3604 N Campbell Avenue in North Center

Zoning has been approved for a four-story residential building at 3604 N Campbell Avenue in North Center. The owner, listed under 2604 North Campbell Avenue, LLC, is planning 12 total dwelling units. Zoning designation of B3-2 permits commercial space on the first floor and apartments above. The now-approved amendment sought to include all-residential use, foregoing grade-level retail space. The first floor will instead include resident parking and an amenity room.
