Chicago’s Central Station, once a hub of vibrant activity, represents a significant chapter in American railway history. Constructed in 1893, the station was designed by esteemed architect Bradford L. Gilbert to accommodate the traffic demands of the World’s Columbian Exposition. Located near Roosevelt Road and Michigan Avenue, the station’s strategic position was instrumental for moving people and goods within the city and beyond. City Council Approves Mixed Use Development At 3262 N Clark Street In Lakeview East

The Chicago City Council has approved the mixed-use development at 3262 N Clark Street in Lakeview East. Located just south of the intersection with W School Street and the recently completed Panorama development, the building will replace an existing three-story structure on the site. Developer Gold Lion Ventures is working with local firm SPACE Architects + Planners who we have seen on a variety of projects recently.

Groundbreaking Held For First Phase Of Encuentro Square In Logan Square

A groundbreaking has been held for the residential development at 1805 N Hamlin Avenue in Logan Square. The project is located right off of the westernmost edge of the 606 trail and replaces a no-demolished one-story masonry building, dubbed ‘Encuentro Square’, it will be split into multiple phases with public parkland as well. In attendance were members of developer Latin United Community Housing Association (LUCHA) who worked with Canopy Architecture and Site Design Group on the buildings.

Last month, Kraft Heinz unveiled their plans to channel upwards of $400 million into the creation of a premier automated CPG distribution center in DeKalb. Spanning 775,000 square feet, this center will be equipped with cutting-edge automation systems and direct railway access. The initiative primarily targets refining Kraft Heinz’s supply routes, ensuring quicker product deliveries to both retailers and the foodservice sector. Furthermore, the development is expected to usher in over 150 new job positions in the vicinity.
