Plans have been unveiled for a new mixed-use development in the Irving Park neighborhood. The project, located at 2907 W Irving Park Road, plans for a seven-story structure occupying an approximately 62,000-square-foot site and housing 45 affordable residential units.
A construction permit has been approved for a new transit development at 611 W 79th Street, in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood. The project, owned by Metra, involves constructing a new two-story Metra station that will integrate with the Rock Island Line.
Construction continues to progress for a three-story commercial building located at 151 N Michigan Avenue in New Eastside. This project is a direct addition to the Millennium Park Plaza apartment complex adjacently north, and has been developed by BJB Partners. The development resides at intersection of Michigan & Randolph, formerly home to a single-story restaurant.
A permit has been approved for an exterior renovation project at 8300 S St. Louis Avenue, the site of the Ashburn Community Elementary School in the Ashburn neighborhood. The permit is slated for various improvements, including a new artificial turf play lot, playground equipment, landscape and paving enhancements, a new trash enclosure, and a street-side fence. The listed owner of the project is the Chicago Public Schools.
A renovation permit has been issued for a project at 2548 W 59th Street in Gage Park. This permit signifies the start of an interior renovation and change of occupancy for an existing one-story brick and frame building. The site will be updated to house two new limited restaurants, replacing the prior structure. Fernando Garcia owns the property.
