A collaborative effort between Sterling Bay and Ascentris, the 350-foot building will house 282 rental apartments above a retail section spanning 2,657 square feet.
A demolition permit has been issued for a property at 2417 W Walton Street in the West Town neighborhood. The permit specifies the removal of a two-story frame multi-unit residence, making way for potential new development. The listed owner of the project is 2417 Walton Corp.
A groundbreaking ceremony occurred this past week in East Garfield Park with the commencement of the Fifth City Commons affordable housing project. This redevelopment targets an underutilized plot, nestled in the city’s West Side at 3155 West 5th Avenue. Realized by Preservation of Affordable Housing Inc (POAH), the new construction will consist of a three-story edifice providing 43 for-rent apartments and 4,300 square feet of ground-floor retail space.
In a wave of continuous improvements, the Chicago Transit Board has awarded the construction contract for the Austin Green Line Station. Located at 351 N Austin Boulevard within the Austin neighborhood, the project comes at a time when the Chicago Transit Authority is working on making all of its stations fully accessible by 2038. The project is being led by the CTA itself although an architect is currently unknown.
The City of Chicago has granted a construction permit for a townhouse development situated at 4717 S Ingleside Avenue in Kenwood. The project, owned by WEMI Properties LLC, will introduce a trio of two-story masonry townhouses, each with a basement and each housing three residential units. This new development will replace a previously vacant plot of land.
