Demolition is underway on an 1870s-era residential multi-residence at 1317 West Wrightwood Avenue in Lincoln Park. A new permit issued by the City of Chicago back in January of this year allows for the construction of a four-story with basement, four-unit building on the site.
Construction progress continues on the 400 Lake Shore North Tower at the old Chicago Spire development site in Streeterville. Now that the Spire cofferdam has been filled in and excavated, it’s hidden from sight as the tower’s lower floors come into view. Amidst a sea of rebar, the ramp down to the lower parking levels is visible, and there’s a glimpse into the lowest two levels of sub-basement, while the rest of the site has grown even in height to the top of the concrete core.
The Chicago City Council has approved the mixed-use development at 4508 S Cottage Grove Avenue in Bronzeville. Located south of the intersection with E 45th Street, the proposal would replace a vacant lot just down the street from Bronzeville Winery. The project is being developed by local John Gruszka with AP Architects LLC having worked on its design.
Initial plans have been revealed for a mixed-use development at 1747 W Grand Avenue in West Town. Located just east of the intersection with N Wood Street adjacent to Publican Quality Bread, the building would be replacing a long term vacant lot on the quickly changing commercial corridor. The project is being developed under the name 1735 Grand LLC.
With only the concrete foundations left to be dug out, demolition work is nearly complete for the new residential development at 4529 North Western Avenue in Lincoln Square. Two modest residential buildings with ground-floor commercial space, at 4531 and 4529 North Western, were torn down this fall to create space for the new project. Builder Luxury was listed in the permits, both issued September 12, as the demolition contractor.
