The full building permit has been issued for Casa Yucatan, a new affordable residential development at Ashland Avenue and 21st Place in Pilsen. The permit was applied for in June of last year, and was issued May 9th with a reported $39 million construction cost. This permit follows the caisson permit issued December 17th of last year. However, work on the site has yet to begin.
Initial details have been revealed for the partial residential conversion of 111 W Illinois Street in River North. Located right on the corner with N La Salle Drive, the existing office building runs across the whole block and was most recently home to Salesforce. Now, a local developer, under the name 111 Illinois LLC, has applied for building permits.
Caisson work for The Lake social club at 205 West Superior Street in River North is in high gear, as a rig from Thatcher Foundations drills and fills concrete shafts. Bulley & Andrews is the general contractor overseeing the construction site.
A new construction permit issued in Garfield Park will help fill a small gap in a large vacant parcel in the 2600 block of West Maypole Avenue. A private developer filed for a permit at 2656 West Maypole on December 3 of last year, and the permit came through on May 9. It allows for a two-story plus basement, two-unit frame building and a two-car garage with a roof deck.
Redevelopment plans have been approved for the former Inn at Lincoln Park, located at 601 W Diversey Parkway in Lincoln Park. Situated at the corner of Diversey Parkway and North Lehmann Court, the project will breathe new life into the aging structure, which has been the subject of various redevelopment proposals in recent years. This latest effort is being spearheaded by Validus Capital.
