Drawings Revealed for Mixed-Use Development at 1801 W Grand Avenue in West Town

Renderings have been revealed for a new proposed five-story mixed-use building at 1801 W Grand Avenue in West Town. Located on a corner lot, the project sits at the southwest corner of the intersection of W Grand Avenue and N Wood Street. The nearest public transportation is the 65 CTA Bus, accessed at the Grand and Wood stop on the edge of the site. The Ashland CTA L station, serviced by the Green and Pink Lines, is a 13-minute walk away. Salina Vest and Planrise LLC are in charge of the project development.

Renderings Show Final Look For Cirrus + Cascade in Lakeshore East

Renderings of the interiors and exterior show the final look for Cirrus and Cascade, two towers currently under construction in Lakeshore East. Officially addressed at 211 N Harbor Drive and 455 E Waterside Drive, respectively, Cirrus and Cascade are part of the larger Lakeshore East development within the Parcels IJKL. The site sits between N Harbor Drive and Lake Shore Drive, just south of the multi-level Wacker Drive. The towers are being developed by Lendlease and Magellan Development Group, with bKL Architecture in charge of the design.

Foundation Work Continues for Future UIC Outpatient and Clinical Center in Illinois Medical District

Drill rigs and other equipment have been spotted at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC)’s future medical building in the Illinois Medical District. Officially known as the UI Health Outpatient Surgery Center and Specialty Clinics, the six-floor, 200,000-square-foot project broke ground last month, with foundation work progressing rapidly.

Zoning Approved for Future Development at 2816 N Southport Avenue in Lake View

The Zoning Board of Appeals has granted two zoning ordinances for a future residential development at 2816 N Southport Avenue in Lake View. The project is located on an interior lot along N Southport Avenue between W Diversey Avenue and W Wolfram Street. The nearest public transportation is the 76 CTA bus accessed at the Southport and Diversey stop, only a two-minute walk away. The Diversey CTA L station, serviced by the Brown and Purple Lines is a 12-minute walk away.

Structural work is close to topping out at 800 W Fulton Market, where developer Thor Equities has planned an 18-story office tower yielding a total 472,000 square feet. Since the last construction update, two of the final floors have been added and work has begun on the glass and brick facade.

Third and Final Portion of Navy Pier Flyover Nears Completion

Recent photos show construction nearing completion for the final section of the Navy Pier Flyover, an above-grade portion of the Lakefront Trail that stretches close to third of a mile in length. Due to its staggered development timeline, the project currently serves cyclists and pedestrians via its completed first two phases, while the third phase alongside Outer Drive Bridge is still under construction.
