Structural work is roughly two-thirds complete for a 12-story mixed-use building known as “Gild,” developed by Newcastle Limited and located at 1210 N State Parkway. Harkening to the surrounding Gold Coast neighborhood, the building will comprise of 89 residences atop 18,000 square feet of retail.

Unit sizes are set to range between studios and two-bedrooms, with balconies or terraces in select units. Amenities will offer residents a private club room, two outdoor lounge areas, a fitness center, and a dog run. Parking will consist of 32 spaces in an integrated garage, along with storage for 91 bikes.

Designed by CallisonRTKL, the 135-foot-tall edifice will involve a series of vertical bays allowing for more views within each residence. The facade will incorporate a brown-hued brick as its primary cladding material, with secondary limestone and granite. The exterior will also include floor-to-ceiling windows with dark metal accents.

Residents and retail tenants will find an assortment of bus options in the area, including access to Route 36 at the adjacent intersection of State & Division. Various other bus lines include Routes 22, 70, 151, and 156 all within a five-minute walk.
Those looking to board CTA L trains will find two options within walking distance: the Red Line at Clark/Division station five minutes to the west, along with the Purple and Brown Line at Chicago station located 18 minutes to the southwest.

The prominently-located development will provide a plethora of nearby entertainment, retail, dining, and outdoor options. Notable points of interest include the Rush and Division neighborhood just to the south, Magnificent Mile slightly further south, Oak Street Beach to the east, and Washington Square Park to the west.

Power Construction is serving as general contractor for the $40-plus million undertaking. Pre-leasing is expected to begin later this fall, with a full move-in date expected for Spring 2022.
