A construction permit has been issued for a new residential development at 1405 E 65th Place in Woodlawn. Developed by DOM Properties Investment Inc., this project is one half of a dual-building development approved by the Chicago Plan Commission. The three-story structure, rising to 40 feet, will feature a basement and house five residential units.
Final exterior construction can be seen at the site of the mixed-use 1606 S Ashland Avenue in Pilsen, where the developer 1600 Pilsen LLC has built 24 new rental units and 4,675 square feet of retail. The four-story, roughly 50,000-square-foot structure will replace a former masonry low-rise building, and is located across the street from the high-profile residential conversion of 1600 S Laflin Street, which was recently approved by city council.
A permit was issued this week for a new five-story mixed-use building located at 451 E Pershing Road in the Bronzeville neighborhood. The owner on the permit is listed as DOM Acquisition LLC. According to records, the site was originally meant to be home to a new CIBC branch. The property has a B3-3 zoning and plans indicate that the construction will include a total of 32 dwelling units. The first floor will house retail space as well as an attached 32-vehicle garage accessible on the ground floor. This will be an elevator building and will include a penthouse on the top floor.
Work on the exterior walls continues to progress for 4410 N Clark Street, a four-story development in Uptown. With Stan Bernshteyn as the developer, the scope of the mixed-use project includes 25 apartment dwellings atop ground-floor retail.
