A groundbreaking has been held for a new community center at 4000 S Archer Avenue in Brighton Park. Located just east of the intersection with S California Avenue, the center will replace a vacant lot near Kelly Edward Park. The center will serve as the new headquarters for the Brighton Park Neighborhood Network (BPNN), who is also building the facility which was designed by local architecture firm JGMA.
Details have been revealed for an industrial facility at 10565 Seymour Avenue in Franklin Park. Located just east of the intersection with Irving Park Road, the new structure would replace three-existing buildings just south of O’Hare International Airport. The project is being led by developer CRG with Lamar Johnson Collaborative working on its design.
Initial details have been revealed for the mixed-use development at 925 W Belmont Avenue in Lake View. Located just west of N Clark Street and next to the CTA Belmont stop, the development would replace a two-story masonry building with multiple retailers on the ground floor. Currently a developer is unknown.
Details have been revealed for the residential development at 2128 S Tan Court in Chinatown. Located just east of the intersection with S Princeton Avenue adjacent to the CTA Orange Line tracks, the project will replace a large long-term vacant lot. The proposal is being led by Tan Court Development LLC, with local architecture firm FitzGerald Associates working on its design to be built in two phases.
The University of Illinois Chicago is making progress on the atrium portion of its new Computer Design Research and Learning Center. Located at 900 W Taylor Street in Little Italy, this facility will add 135,000 square feet of new educational and research programming. The five-story center is being added to the existing Science and Engineering Labs building.
