Further renderings have been revealed for the mixed-use development at 925 W Belmont Avenue in Lake View. Sitting near the CTA Belmont stop just west of N Halsted Street, YIMBY originally covered the project earlier this month when revealed by the Alderman. The project is being led by Mavrek Development with local firm Eckenhoff Saunders working on its design.
Initial details have been revealed for the residential development at 1055 W Diversey Parkway in Lincoln Park. Located just west of the intersection with N Sheffield Avenue on the northern edge of the neighborhood, the project will be replacing an existing church building. The proposal is being led by developer Contemporary Concepts with Studio Dwell Architects working on its design.
Facade work has been completed on a two-story commercial development located at 1043 N Rush Street in the Near North Side. This 20,709-square-foot retail project, designed by GREC Architects and developed by L3 Capital, features an exterior of tan brick with dark metal accents and arched bays at street level.
JDL’s expansive North Union megaproject is advancing, with exterior work on the second phase’s 26-story tower at 868 N Wells Street nearing completion. Rising to a height of 305 feet, this Near North Side high-rise will replace a former low-rise brick building, offering a mix of 411 apartment units and 12,000 square feet of retail space. This project follows closely on the heels of the first phase’s completion, a 21-story apartment tower at 920 N Wells Street.
A construction date has been announced for the next phase of the Marquette Greenway Trail in Michigan. The 58-mile long trail is set to connect Chicago to Southwest Michigan by the end of 2027. The path is being led by the governments of the three states it crosses through, Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan, and is partially funded federally.
