Obama Presidential Center Nears Full Height in Jackson Park

Construction is nearing full height for the Obama Presidential Center at 6000 S Stony Island Avenue in Jackson Park. The center, spearheaded by the Obama Foundation, will replace a portion of the park that formerly housed a football field, situated southwest of the Museum of Science and Industry. The architectural design is a collaborative effort between Interactive Design Architects and Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects, while the landscape architecture is being handled by a team consisting of Living Habitats, Site Design Group, and Michael van Valkenburg Associates.

Final Touches Seen for 311 W Huron Street in River North

A 16-story, 153,000-square-foot mixed-use development is wrapping up construction at 311 W Huron Street in the River North neighborhood. Developed by North Wells Capital and designed by NORR, the building will feature office spaces atop approximately 8,500 square feet of retail. ARCO Murray has served as the general contractor for the project, with much of the final facade pieces having been installed since our last update.

Partial Funding Announced For Relaunch Of HotHouse In Bronzeville

Partial funding has been announced for the relaunch of HotHouse at 3947 S Michigan Avenue in Bronzeville. Located just north of the intersection with E 40th Street near the CTA Green Line Indiana stop, the project will redevelop the former home of the Elliot Donelley Youth Center. The project is being led by the famed club itself with Evanston-based DMAC Architecture & Interiors working on its design.
