Located on the corner of S Loomis Street and W Harrison Street, the new acute care hospital building will rise next to the recently completed Joan and Paul Rubschlager building, both of which sit on land once occupied by a student housing complex.

Construction permits have been issued for a new two-story residential building located at 1330 W Cullerton Street in Pilsen. The owner Crisantos Granados plans for three total dwellings, a basement level, and a 355-square-foot private rooftop deck for the second floor unit. As far as parking, there will be three spaces on a concrete parking pad. The development will replace a two-story frame residence that is set back from the street.

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved a mixed-use development at 160 N Morgan Street in the West Loop. Slightly revised plans for the bKL Architecture-designed residential high-rise were presented by developer Sterling Bay as they continue to build up the former meat packing industrial area. Facing N Morgan street, the site which once held a drive-thru bank turned Gucci store pop-up, will give residents direct access to restaurant row, the CTA Green Line, and next door Federales bar.

Photos Show Site Prep for Obama Presidential Center in Hyde Park

Site prep can be seen progressing for the Obama Presidential Center, a three-building masterplan by The Obama Foundation now underway in Hyde Park. The project will occupy a portion of Jackson Park’s western edge, and will be oriented around a central plaza space that will accommodate planned events and public artwork. Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects and Interactive Design Architects will serve are the architects involved in the building design, while Michael van Valkenburgh Associates, Site Design Group, and Living Habitats have overseen the landscape architecture.
