The Chicago City Council has approved the rezoning for a mixed-use development at 747 W 79th Street in Auburn Gresham. Located on the southeast corner with S Halsted Street, the new project replaces a vacant lot in an active retail corridor surrounded by various food shops and local businesses. As a part of the city’s popular Invest South/West initiative, developer Evergreen Imagine LLC is working with Ross Barney and Nia Architects on the design.

Foundation work is progressing on HUGO, LG Development‘s two-building development located at 751 N Hudson Avenue and 411 W Chicago Avenue in River North. The two nine-story buildings will be nearly adjacent to one another, separated by an existing low-rise masonry building. Combined, the mixed-use edifices will span 230,000 square feet, occupied by 19,000 square feet of mercantile space and 227 apartments.

Located just east of the intersection with S Wallace Street, the three homes will replace a vacant lot, a one-story non-historical home and its adjacent garage. Developer Thomas M Doyle Builders LLC is working with local designer Stern Group Architects on the low-cost builds.
