City Council Approves Wellness Center At 2933 W Division Street In Humboldt Park

The Chicago City Council has approved a new wellness center at 2933 W Division Street in Humboldt Park. Located on the intersection with N Richmond Street and across the street from the neighborhood’s namesake park, the new facility will replace an empty lot and three-story residential building while utilizing the existing adjacent parking lot. Developer Humboldt Park Health recently received approval from the Chicago Plan Commission on the JGMA-designed structure.

Caisson Drilling Kicks Off for Howard Brown Health Clinic at 3501 N Halsted Street in Lake View East

Caisson work has begun for the new Howard Brown Health Clinic at 3501 N Halsted Street in Lake View East. The five-story development will replace a former low rise retail building at the corner of Halsted & Cornelia.

City Council Approves Mixed-Use Development At 747 W 79th Street In Auburn Gresham

The Chicago City Council has approved the rezoning for a mixed-use development at 747 W 79th Street in Auburn Gresham. Located on the southeast corner with S Halsted Street, the new project replaces a vacant lot in an active retail corridor surrounded by various food shops and local businesses. As a part of the city’s popular Invest South/West initiative, developer Evergreen Imagine LLC is working with Ross Barney and Nia Architects on the design.

Demolition Wraps Up for 2419 N Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Park

Last week, YIMBY covered the newly revealed plans for a five-story mixed-use building in Lincoln Park. The triangular parcel is located at 2419 N Lincoln Avenue, situated prominently at the three-way intersection of Lincoln Avenue, Halsted Street, and Fullerton Parkway. With demolition wrapping up and the former Julia Park now cleared, we are providing additional photos of the progress so far, as well as a 3D visual of how the structure will look within the surrounding context.

LG Development’s “HUGO” Gets Ready to Rise in River North

Foundation work is progressing on HUGO, LG Development‘s two-building development located at 751 N Hudson Avenue and 411 W Chicago Avenue in River North. The two nine-story buildings will be nearly adjacent to one another, separated by an existing low-rise masonry building. Combined, the mixed-use edifices will span 230,000 square feet, occupied by 19,000 square feet of mercantile space and 227 apartments.

City Council Approves Residential Development 526-530 W 41st Street In Canaryville

The Chicago City Council has approved the rezoning for a residential development at 526-530 W 41st Street in Canaryville. Located just east of the intersection with S Wallace Street, the three homes will replace a vacant lot, a one-story non-historical home and its adjacent garage. Developer Thomas M Doyle Builders LLC is working with local designer Stern Group Architects on the low-cost builds.

Plan Commission Approves SRO Project at 3150 N Racine Avenue in Lakeview

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved plans for a residential expansion of the existing Belray Apartments building at 3150 N Racine Avenue in Lakeview. The property and its parking lot are located right off of W Belmont Avenue and are operated by Mercy Housing, who is also developing the new expansion with architect Landon Bone Baker. Since we last covered the project in January, there have been a handful of changes including a decrease in total units.

Foundation Work Underway for 3217 N Clark Street in Lake View East

Initial foundation work can be seen at the site of 3217 N Clark Street in Lake View East, where a new five-story mid rise has been planned. The mixed-use structure will have ground-level retail and 32 residential units on the upper levels. This development, filed under the name 3211 N Clark LLC, will be replacing a former parking lot.

Edith Spurlock Apartments Addition Tops Out in Lincoln Park

Structural work has topped out for a six-story addition to the Edith Spurlock Apartments complex in Lincoln Park. The new building at 2700 N Sheffield Avenue will sit between the two existing apartment buildings, which are also undergoing their own renovations as part of the project scope. The addition is been co-developed by the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) and Pirhl.

City Council Approves New Coffee Roastery At 3110 N Kedzie Avenue In Avondale

The Chicago City Council has approved the rezoning for a new roastery and cafe at 3110 N Kedzie Avenue in Avondale. Located just north of the intersection with W Barry Avenue right off of the Kennedy Expressway, the shop would repurpose the existing one-story masonry structure that currently houses the Olde Chicago Antiques store. Local business Metric Coffee is behind the plan that has been in motion for a few months with local design firm En-Masse Architecture, previously known as Mike Shively Architecture, on the new outpost.
