Construction permits have been issued for a four-story mixed-use building set for 4939 N Damen Avenue in Ravenswood. Fortech, Inc is the filing owner, whose plans include 12 total units, along with first-floor retail and a 12-vehicle garage topped with a rooftop deck. The property was formerly occupied by a one-floor masonry commercial building.
Red Architects is behind the design. Currently available renderings highlight a mix of brick and fiber cement paneling along the facade, which is also indented by inset balconies with wooden railings.
Nearby bus access consists of north and southbound service for Route 50 that can be found at the adjacent corner of Damen & Argyle. Additional nearby service is comprised of 92 to the north and 81 to the south. Additionally, those looking for the Brown Line train can find Damen station an eight-minute walk south. Meanwhile, those looking to board the Metra will find Ravenswood via a nine-minute walk southeast.
Archway Builders is serving as general contractor for the $2,000,000 development. A finalized completion date has not yet been revealed.

one unit, 12 vehicle garage? huh
More street fronting balconies. This may as well have been Hanna. Chicago streets are going to appear generic, brutal and uninviting the more these keep popping up everywhere.
I second this. Already happened to Lincoln Park and Lakeview. They should make it mandatory to include the window turrets to keep that Chicago feel. Especially on corner buildings.
