Funding Announced For Red Line Extension As City Approves Zoning

The Red Line Extension is moving forward as the state has secured $1.9 billion in federal funding for the project. The announcement came at the same time as Chicago City Council’s announcement that the council had approved zoning for the project. With the design and construction team secured, the extension is slated to begin construction late 2025.

With Teardown Complete, Excavation Is Prepping A Lake View Four-Flat

Foundation work has begun for a new four-flat at 1210 West Wellington Avenue in Lake View, now that the previous structure has been torn down and rubble hauled away. Bachula Development Group is erecting the three-story with basement, four-condominium building on the site, having received a new construction permit (assigned to 1208 West Wellington) on the 13th of this month.

405 West Armitage Begins Taking Shape In Old Town

405 West Armitage, the new condominium development from Barrett Homes in the Old Town neighborhood, is taking form as it begins to rise above street level. Also performing general contractor duties as well as those of developer, Barrett broke ground on the project this fall, shortly after receiving a building permit from the City of Chicago that was issued on October 4. The site used to be home to a single-story brick building that most recently held a CVS store.
