ADM Wheat Mill Enters Final Phase of Demolition at 1300 W Carroll Avenue in Fulton Market

Demolition has begun for the final silo portion of the ADM Wheat Mill at 1300 W Carroll Avenue in West Loop‘s Fulton Market District.
Full construction permits have now been issued for 2143 N Racine Avenue, a planned three-story residential building in Lincoln Park. As previously reported by YIMBY, demolition permits were issued for an existing masonry multi-unit residence. This new construction will provide three total units, a rooftop deck and stair enclosure, steel stairs, and a detached three-car garage.
Structural work is now at the second floor for Schiller Place Apartments, a three-building residential development at 711-749 W Schiller Street in Near North Side. Prior to construction, the narrow site was occupied by a vacant grass lot.
Full construction permits have been issued for a training and administration building under the address 4443 W Chicago Avenue in Humboldt Park. Planning documents from this spring show that the intended usage will be a government-owned Joint Public Safety Training Campus. This campus will provide a central hub for both current and new police officers, firefighters, and paramedics to practice emergency response and perform cross-department training exercises. The facility will be able to accommodate up to 1,500 first responders daily. As of now, the 34-acre site is occupied by an undeveloped forested area.
Last month, a new mural by artist Tony Fitzpatrick was installed at the Steppenwolf Theater‘s Lincoln Park campus.
