Funding Partially Approved For Motor Row Redevelopment

Funding has been partially approved for the mixed-use redevelopment of 2222 S Michigan Avenue within the Motor Row District. Located a few buildings south from the intersection with E Cermak Road, the project will restore the existing block-deep building while giving it a new program as the area near McCormick Place continues to see a rebound from 2020. Developer Hudson Michigan Avenue LLC is behind the proposal along with local-design firm FitzGerald.

Permits Issued for Misericordia Home Expansion in West Ridge

Multiple construction permits have been issued for an expansion of an existing intermediate care facility known as Misericordia Home in West Ridge. The expansion project, which has been dubbed “Sister Rosemary Park,” will serve those with developmental disabilities, comprising of 16 detached homes, each two stories in height.

Construction Nears Full Height for 210 N Aberdeen Street in Fulton Market

Construction is nearing full height for a 19-story mixed-use building at 210 N Aberdeen Street in Fulton Market. Developed by LG Development Group, this structure will feature 10,700 square feet of retail space and 363 apartment units.

Plans Revealed For Mixed-Use Redevelopment At 4655 N Broadway In Uptown

Plans have been revealed for a new mixed-use development at 4655 N Broadway in Uptown. Located directly on the southeast corner with W Leland Avenue, the project joins a growing list of new proposals in the neighborhood as it continues to transform into a residential and entertainment hub for the city. Developer Wemi Properties LLC is working with local-firm Yu & Associates Collaborative on its design that restores the existing two-story commercial building on site.

Permits Issued for 6044 N Winthrop Avenue in Edgewater

Construction permits have been issued for the development of a new five-story residential building in Edgewater. The new building will be located at 6044 N Winthrop Avenue, replacing a former parking lot on the site. The project is being developed by North Park Ventures.

Plans Revealed For Mixed-Use Tower At 1300 W Lake Street

Plans have been revealed for a new mixed-use development at 1300 W Lake Street in the West Loop. Located on the northwest corner with W Lake Street the proposal continues to grow the neighborhood’s skyline west and will replace an existing two-story commercial building and its adjoining parking lot. Developer Loukas Development is working with local design firms bKL Architecture, Confluence, and DLA Piper on the new high-rise to be presented in front of the Committee on Design next Wednesday.

Permits Issued for 1439 W Winona Street in Uptown

Construction permits have been issued for a new residential development at 1439 W Winona Street in Uptown. The project is a three-story building with a basement, containing three dwelling units, and an occupiable rooftop on the third story. There is also a detached three-vehicle private garage.

First Permit Issued for Englewood Connect Firehouse Renovation

The first renovation permit has been issued for the old Engine Company 84, Truck 51 firehouse at 6204 S Green Street in Englewood. The rehabilitation is the first phase of a 4.28-acre culinary hub and event center oriented around healthy living, led by developer Englewood Connect LLC and designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.

Initial TIF Granted For South Shore Mixed-Use Development

Funding has been partially approved for part of the mixed-use development centered at 2935 E 79th Street in South Shore. Located on the corner with S Exchange Avenue in front of the Cheltenham/79th Street Metra station, the multi-lot project will redevelop a pair of existing buildings and create new opportunities for home ownership. Dubbed ‘Thrive Exchange’, developer DL3 Realty is working with KOO Architects and Site Design Group on the design of the proposal which won a 2021 Invest South/West RFP.

Facade Takes Shape at 732 W Randolph Street in Fulton Market

Brickwork can now be seen at Fulton Market‘s 732 W Randolph Street, where a new nine-story commercial addition is taking shape. Developed by Samuel Oliva, this nine-story structure will offer 6,000 square feet of office space on each of the next seven levels, with retail on the first floor and tenant amenities on the ninth floor.
