Renovation Work Spotted at 679 N Michigan Avenue along Magnificent Mile

With the exterior removed, significant renovations are underway at 679 N Michigan Avenue along Magnificent Mile. The structure was formerly an Apple Store, then subsequently the canvas for a mural titled “Rapt on The Mile” by Nick Cave and Bob Faust. This third chapter for the four-story building will be a retail redevelopment by Nick Canellis and will span four levels. According to an article by Crain’s Chicago Business, H&M will be the occupying tenant.

A Final Look at the Now-Complete 113 E Oak Street in Near North Side

Since our last update, the two-story retail development at 113 E Oak Street in Near North Side has completed construction. Spanning 5,050 square feet, the new building was developed by 113 E Oak Street LLC with an equal distribution of space between its two floors. The first and second floors offer approximately 2,600 and 2,500 square feet, respectively.

Plan Commission Approved Multi-Tower Development In West Loop

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the mixed-use development at 370-401 N Morgan Street in the West Loop. The three-structure proposal will center around the intersection with W Kinzie Street and built in phases, replacing multiple existing buildings just north of the Google Midwest headquarters. Developer Vista Property is moving forward with gathering all necessary approvals for the Gensler-designed development.

Walls Rise for 1043 N Rush Street in Near North Side

Construction for a new mixed-use development at 1043 N Rush Street in Near North Side is now above grade. The two-story project, led by L3 Capital, has enlisted GREC Architects for its design. The exterior will have tan brick cladding, dark metal accents, and arched street-level bays.

Permit Issued for 2651 W 83rd Place in Wrightwood

The city has approved a construction permit for a one-story residential building at 2651 W 83rd Place in Wrightwood. The six-bedroom / 2.5-bath project will be an ADA-compliant, community-integrated living arrangement (CLIA) for Envision Unlimited, a service provider for individuals with disabilities.

741 N Wells Street Nears Conclusion in River North

The mixed-use tower at 741 N Wells Street in River North is nearing the end of its construction phase, with the last of the facade installation now underway. Developed by Vista Property, the 21-story building spans 201,000 square feet and will feature 168 apartments atop 4,000 square feet of ground-level retail.

The project entails exterior facade repair and restoration of an existing two-story residential building with two dwelling units. There will be no interior alterations, and there’s no change in occupancy, use, or area, as indicated by the permit’s description.

Land Sale Finalized For 1234 W Randolph Street In Fulton Market

The sale of the land for the mixed-use development at 1234 W Randolph Street in Fulton Market has now been finalized. Located on the intersection with N Elizabeth Street and replacing a couple of commercial structures, the development can now proceed after originally being proposed as a hotel multiple years ago. Developers Azur Holdings and Golub & Company are behind the project with architecture firm SCB working on its design.

Permit Issued for Residential Mid-Rise at 1723 S Michigan Avenue in South Loop

A preliminary construction permit has been issued for a major new residential project located at 1723 S Michigan Avenue in South Loop. The development will comprise a new 13-story building with a total of 149 residential apartment units and 98 parking spaces. The project’s ownership lies with the 1725 S Michigan Development Corporation.
