Construction on the exterior walls of Bennett Day School, located at 955 W Grand Avenue in West Town, is progressing as the school undergoes its second campus expansion. The expansion, known as ‘Phase 3’, will nearly double the size of the independent PreK-12 school from 50,000 to approximately 100,000 square feet and aims to increase student capacity from 320 to 600.
Marquette Companies has completed and celebrated the grand opening of The Thompson at Fulton Market, a 210-unit mixed-use apartment complex located at 150 N Ashland Avenue in the Near West Side. Occupying the site of the former Mary Thompson Hospital, this development combines a newly constructed 12-story building with a renovated five-story brick building from the 1920s. The project is named in honor of Dr. Mary Thompson, Chicago’s first female doctor and first woman known to have performed major surgery.
The construction of Evanston Labs, a 10-story office and lab building, is nearing completion near Northwestern University at 710 Clark Street. The project, developed by Trammell Crow Company and designed by ESG Architecture & Design, covers an area of 177,575 square feet. The curved design of the exterior is made up of bronze, glass, and tan paneling. The building is tailored to host companies in biomedicine, nanotechnology, and neuroscience and offers eight levels of office and laboratory space.
Initial details have been revealed for the residential development at 4907 N Paulina Street in Ravenswood. Located just north of the intersection with W Ainslie Street on the eastern edge of the neighborhood, the project will replace four existing structures for which demolition permits have just been issued. The project is being led by Hayes Properties Inc.
