Foundation work is underway at 537 West Drummond Place in Lincoln Park for a new residential development. General contractor Summit Design + Build has taken over the site, and dirt is being dug up and push around on what used to serve as a parking lot for the USPS facility next door. Soon, construction will begin on a seven-story, 84-unit building from developer Moyer Properties.
Apartments here will include studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom floor plans, while the ground floor will feature retail space, garage parking, and bicycle storage. Additional parking spaces will be included outside. The building was designed by Brininstool + Lynch, now known as ParkFowler Plus.
537 West Drummond Place got its new construction permit back on August 31, 2022. After some delays, three revisions were issued by the City of Chicago to update the development team and address changes to the building’s amenities and finishes.
Residents of 537 West Drummond Place will find bus stops for CTA Routes 22 and 36 on their block. A little less than two blocks north is the Route 76 bus, which can be used to connect with the Diversey Brown/Purple Line elevated platform just over half a mile west.
