Initial foundation work can be seen at the site of 3217 N Clark Street in Lake View East, where a new five-story mid rise has been planned. The mixed-use structure will have ground-level retail and 32 residential units on the upper levels. This development, filed under the name 3211 N Clark LLC, will be replacing a former parking lot.

The design by SGW Architecture & Design consists of a mixed-colored masonry palette, with several notable elements such as an uninterrupted vertical glass strip, textured spandrels, and red accents around the retail component. As seen in the rear rendering, select units will also come with overhanging balconies.

For parking, there will be an integrated garage with 20 parking spaces. Bus service for Routes 22 and 77 are available south of the site at Clark & Belmont. Additionally, service for the Red, Brown, and Purple CTA L Lines can be found at Belmont station via a two-minute walk west.

Midwest Heritage Builders LLC is serving as general contractor for the approximately $6 million construction. A full completion timeline is not yet known.
