The Residences of St. Boniface, Phase 2 of the St. Boniface Church redevelopment project in Noble Square, have topped out, windows are in, and exterior work is nearing completion ahead of their spring 2025 debuts. Located at 1340 West Chestnut Street and directly across from Eckhart Park, the condos are the new-construction portion of the adaptive re-use units next door at the renovated church.
Site prep has begun for a new multi-family residential development at 453 West Briar Place in Lake View. The five-story, six-unit condominium project is being built by Chicago’s GVP Development. They got a new construction permit back on May 21 for the property. And now, dirt is being ushed around in anticipation of getting foundation work started, which was permitted separately in November of 2023.
A building that housed Happy Village, a fixture for more than 50 years at the corner of Wolcott Avenue and Thomas Street in East Village, is undergoing an expansion and overhaul in West Town. With the bar now closed and the building having changed ownership, a partial demolition and expansion are underway.

Located at 1340 W Chestnut Street and immediately east of St. Boniface Church, the new four-story elevator building was issued a New Construction permit for 20 condo units and a 25-space garage on October 23, 2023. A basement is also part of the plan, under a foundation permit issued August 25 of last year.
