Initial plans have been revealed for a mixed-use development within the walls of the existing Washington Park National Bank building at 6300 S Cottage Grove Avenue in Woodlawn. Located on the southwest corner with E 63rd Street directly adjacent to the CTA Green Line terminal station, the historical structure has fallen into deep disrepair from years of sitting vacant. A revised permit was issued yesterday for a four-story mixed-use building located at 1730 W 18th Street in the Lower West Side neighborhood. The permit owner is listed as Michael Fox and plans indicate that the ground floor will be used as a commercial space. The remaining floors will be residential and will have nine total dwelling units. The building is equipped with a basement and an enclosed rooftop deck. The revised permit is for drainage and ventilation totaling an additional $112,000 in construction costs.

Initial Details Revealed For Roseland Medical District Masterplan

The Chicago Committee on Design has reviewed the initial details for a new mixed-use medical masterplan in Roseland. The overall plan area is bound by W 110th Street to the north, S Michigan Avenue to the east, W 112th Street to the south, and S Eggleston Avenue to the west and is near to the recently opened Pullman National Monument. The project was brought forward by the Roseland Medical District Commission who is working with a team of designers led by local firm Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, all of which are helping to provide a zoning and phasing scheme for the upcoming developments.
