Alejandro Palos has been granted a permit for the construction of a new three-story, three-unit residential building at 1139 South Mozart Street in North Lawndale. The permit, issued on August 15, comes after a 62-day standard plan review process that began with the application submission on June 14.
Initial financing has been approved for the second-phase of the LeClaire Courts redevelopment at 4458 S Cicero Avenue in Garfield Ridge. The approval came from the Community Development Commission who granted the project $5.5 million in Tax Increment Financing (TIF). The multi-phase proposal is being led by developers The Habitat Company and Cabrera Capital Partners, with SCB working on its design.
The City of Chicago has issued a new construction permit for the property at 2702 North Greenview Avenue in Lincoln Park. The space currently is a greenery-filled side yard, likely belonging to the home next door at 2700 North Greenview before the empty lot was sold, with a concrete slab for parking still at the rear of the property. There are no permits for this address in the Chicago Data Portal dating back to 2006, so it looks like this lot has been empty for a good while. There is also no indication to date that the home at 2700 will be demolished as part of this development.
Dom Acquisitions LLC has been issued a new permit for the construction of a new four-story, 14-unit residential building at 6521 South Blackstone Avenue in Woodlawn. The permit, issued on August 13, comes after a 189-day processing period that began with the application submission on February 6.
An updated cost has been revealed for the CTA Red Line Extension (RLE) as the agency selects a contractor ahead of construction. Stretching all the way down to 130th Street once completed, the project has been in development for over a decade and recently received additional funding from the federal government.
