Additional details and renderings have been revealed for the upcoming expansion of the Fifth Third Arena at 301 S Damen Avenue in the Near West Side. The substantial project will nearly double the square footage of the existing facility, which is owned by the Chicago Blackhawks. Construction is already well underway.
A construction permit has been issued to build a three-story plus basement, two-unit residential building at 2966 North Oakley Avenue in North Center. The permit names the current home owner as the developer, who applied for the permit to build on March 7th. Permission was granted on May 30th with a reported construction cost of $1.1 million.

Located on the northern half of the site, the stadium will create a permanent home for the team, which relocated to Soldier Field from Bridgeview in recent years. Efforts for the mixed-use development are being led by the team’s owner, Joe Mansueto, and Related Midwest.
A single-family residence at 1847 North Mohawk Street in Lincoln Park has been purchased by a developer, and a demolition permit has been issued to knock it down. The three-story home, sold in April for $2.1 million, was built in 1988. The permit to raze the structure and its detached frame garage was issued on June 2nd, with the Carlos Group named as the demolition contractor.
Updated details have been revealed for the hotel development at 150 W Hubbard Street in River North. Located at the corner of West Hubbard Street and North LaSalle Drive, the project has undergone multiple iterations over the years, with various hotel flags previously attached. Most recently, YIMBY reported when Detroit-based developer Porritt Group applied for initial construction permits a year ago.
