Chicago Plan Commission Approves Roseland Medical District Master Plan

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the final iteration of the Roseland Medical District Masterplan in Roseland. Relatively bound by W 110th Street to the north, S Michigan Avenue to the east, W 112th Street to the south, and S Eggleston Avenue to the west, the plan would sit just east of the future 111th Street station from the CTA Red Line extension. The efforts are being led by the Roseland Medical District Commission who is working with local design firm Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture on the overall guide.

Window Installation Finishes Up for Madison + Carpenter Condominiums in West Loop

The majority of the windows have now been installed for ZSD Corp‘s “Madison + Carpenter,” a six-story condominium building at 6 N Carpenter Street in West Loop. The residential structure will contain 13 units of either four- or five-bedroom floorplans. The site had previously contained a set of single-story masonry buildings that were demolished last year.

Permits Issued to National Public Housing Museum

The National Public Housing Museum located in the Near West Side neighborhood has been issued renovation permits. The site is located on the corner of W Taylor Street and Ada Street. The permits have been issued under the address 925 S Ada Street. As previously reported, the project is part of the larger Roosevelt Square Plan that seeks to further connect the Taylor Street corridor. The developers are Related Midwest and they continue to work in conjunction with Chicago Housing Authority and local firms HED Architects and Landon Bone Baker Architects.

Groundbreaking Held For Covent Hotel Renovation At 2653 N Clark Street in Lincoln Park

A groundbreaking has been held for the mixed-use renovation of the old Covent Hotel at 2653 N Clark Street in Lincoln Park. Located on the corner with W Drummond Place, the project is part of a larger proposal which will bring a new market rate apartment building, however the existing rooming motel will be converted to affordable units. This is being led by the NHP Foundation and Drummond Development with local firm Weese Langley Weese Architects working on its design.
