With permission now in hand, construction can begin on a new four-story, four-unit residential building at 965 East 62nd Street in Woodlawn. Issued by the city on October 10, the permit shows a reported cost of $1.2 million and was applied for on March 3 of this year.
Preliminary landmark recommendations have been approved by the Commission on Chicago Landmarks for two buildings in The Loop, ahead of their residential conversions. Located at 19 South LaSalle Street and 105 West Adams Street, both developments have been in the works for over a year and are part of the city’s LaSalle Street Reimagined initiative.
The first row of townhomes on the former Cenacle Retreat land in Lincoln Park have topped out. Addressed as 2329 North Cambridge Avenue, the row of homes extends off a short segment of the street extending south off Fullerton Parkway, a segment that could be mistaken for an alley. The first set of eight townhomes was permitted on April 2nd with a reported cost of $4.11 million.
A demolition permit issued by the City of Chicago will allow a new seven-unit residential project to proceed at 1504 North Hudson Avenue in Old Town. The permit, which came through on October 6th, clears the lot at 1506 North Hudson, assigning Builder Luxury to do the teardown at a reported cost of $20,000.
The Chicago City Council has approved the residential conversion of 223 West Erie Street in River North. Located at the intersection with North Franklin Street and bordered by CTA tracks to the west, the proposal was originally introduced earlier this summer along with many other conversions across the city.
