The Chicago City Council has approved the massive Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park on the South Side. Set to replace the long-vacant 400-acre former South Works site, the project is already attracting new investments as IBM has announced a new research center within the campus. Homes Are Rising On Both 13th Street and Hastings Street On The Near West Side

Two rows of residential buildings have begun construction, and some have topped out at their full three stories, on the city’s Near West Side. A dozen buildings are being developed here, with permits having been issued for the first eight back in August, and the final four permitted in November. Designed by Axios Architects, the project will deliver 72 dwelling units in total.
