Initial details have been revealed for a new community center at 6020 S King Drive in Washington Park. Located on the intersection with E 60th Street on the southwest corner of Washington Park itself, the Sunshine Community Center will consume the majority of a vacant block with the exception of a structure at its southern end. The project is being developed by Sunshine Gospel Ministries who is working with Civic Projects Architecture and the Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives.

Exterior Takes Shape for “The Draper 2.0” in Uptown

Facade work has commenced for a five-story mixed-use building at 1135 W Winona Street in Uptown. This edifice is part of a two-part development phase known as “The Draper” by Cedar St. Companies. Both buildings will stand five stories and featuring a combination of ground-level retail spaces and 180 residential units in total, comprised of 168 apartments and 12 townhomes.

Permit Issued for Residential Building at 2329 W Fullerton Avenue in Bucktown

A permit has been issued for a new three-story, four-unit residential building in Bucktown. Located at 2329 W Fullerton Avenue, the project is being developed under the name 2327 Fullerton LLC. The site is currently a vacant lot.

Zoning Fully Approved For Mixed-Use Buildings In Logan Square

Final zoning approval was granted for the mixed-use development at 2354 and 2355 N Washtenaw Avenue in Logan Square. The pair of buildings will be located on the southern corners of the intersection with W Fullerton Avenue across the street from Haas Park, replacing a one-story bank and a parking lot with much needed density in the growing neighborhood. The project comes to us from Hibernian Development who worked with local firm 360 Design Studio on the nearly twin structures.

Two-Story at 1735 N Albany Avenue Receives Permit in Humboldt Park

A permit for a new two-floor, two-unit residential building has been issued under the address 1735 N Albany Avenue in Humboldt Park. Set to be both developed and built by BM UK Enterprise Company, the new housing will come with a rooftop deck and stair enclosure. The main structure will also be accompanied by a detached three-vehicle garage. Hanna Architects is the listed architect of record.

Updated Details Approved For Residential Development At 330 W Chestnut Street In Near North Side

Updated details have been approved for the residential development at 330 W Chestnut Street in the Near North Side. Located on the intersection with N Orleans Street near the upcoming North Union megadevelopment, the project replaces a vacant lot which has served as a parking lot in recent years. Now developers Draper & Kramer and BlitzLake Partners have returned to the Plan Commission after receiving approval last fall, as they are amending the plans designed by FitzGerald Associates.

Brinshore Development LLC has joined forces with Landon Bone Baker Architect, a firm renowned for their affordable housing designs, to bring this project to life. The building will be situated on a vacant lot to the west of the intersection with N Clarendon Avenue, close to the recently approved Sarah’s on Lakeview.

Three Proposals Move Forward for LaSalle Reimagined Initiative in The Loop

The Loop’s LaSalle Street is set to undergo a significant transformation, with the city announcing three winning proposals as part of the LaSalle Reimagined initiative. These mixed-use makeovers will receive $188 million in tax-increment financing (TIF) dollars and will add 1,059 apartments to the financial district, with 317 of them being affordable.
