The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the updated plans for 1016 W Jackson Boulevard in the West Loop. Replacing a five-story office building and a two-story commercial building, the project expanded in size recently and needed new approval. This proposal is being led by Mavrek Development, with Eckenhoff Saunders serving as the architects.
Three single-family homes we looked at back in May on N Greenview Avenue in Uptown have topped out, and now brickwork has begun for two of them. Once the location of the First Spanish Christian Church at North Greenview and West Sunnyside, the lot created by the church’s demolition received three new construction permits in January of this year.
A permit for new construction has been issued for a property located at 838 North Damen Avenue in Ukrainian Village. The permit, which was applied for on January 6 and issued on July 18 allows for the construction of a three-story, two-unit masonry building with a finished basement, rooftop access stairs, a private rooftop deck, a two-vehicle masonry garage, and two bike parking spaces.
The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the mixed-use tower at 1565 N Clybourn Avenue in the Near North Side. Situated across the street from the Lincoln Park Apple Store along N Halsted Street, the project will be replacing a small commercial building within a larger complex owned by developer The Georgetown Company and designed by bKL Architecture.
Construction is in full swing for a three-story, three-unit residential building at 1087 N Marshfield Avenue in East Village. Issued by the City of Chicago on May 3, 2024, the construction permit also calls for a detached three-car garage at the rear of the property. Designed by Hanna Architects, the building will include balconies facing Marshfield, a rear first-floor terrace, and a basement. The rear stairways will have decks, as will the garage rooftop.
