Gaming Board Grants Bally’s Permanent License

The Illinois Gaming Board has approved the permanent operating license for Bally’s future casino at 777 W Chicago Avenue in River West. The approval came this week after a lengthy review period, also granting the temporary location within the Medinah Temple its requested extension to 2026. The efforts were led by Rhode-Island based Bally’s who worked with various architects on both of the properties.

Informational Outreach Meeting Announced For DPI At The 78

An informational outreach meeting has been announced for the Discovery Partners Institute (DPI) at 1519 S Wells Street within The 78. Located just south of the South Loop and off of the recently completed Wells-Wentworth connector, DPI is set to be the first building within the proposed megadevelopment. The project is being spearheaded by the Illinois Capital Development Board and Related Midwest, with architecture firms OMA and Jacobs working on its design.

Facade Work Wraps Up for Lakeview Connection in Lakeview East

Facade work has wrapped up for 801 W Belmont Avenue, known as Lakeview Connection, in Lakeview East. The project will replace a former bank built in 1921 and designed by Ivar Viehe-Naess, as well as an adjacent parking lot. The developer, Hubbard Street Group, has planned for 59,000 square feet of space and 300 feet of storefront. The CBRE-provided brochure for the property indicates seven total retail units.
