The Chicago Plan Commission has approved a mixed-use rehabilitation at 4712 W Irving Park Road in Portage Park. Bound by N Cicero Avenue to the west and across the street from the upcoming 4747 W Irving Park Road, the project will rehabilitate and add on to an existing Sears department store which has occupied the site since 1938. The $90 million dollar rehabilitation of the historic store is being led by Six Corners Real Estate Development LLC and is part of a greater economic development effort to attract more businesses and diversify the area.

Construction permits have been issued for a three-story residential building at 3250 N Racine Avenue near the center of Lake View. Devise Development Group is the owner and developer behind the project, which will come with two units, a basement, a rooftop deck and stair enclosure, rear decks with stairs along all three floors, and a detached two-car garage with a separate rooftop deck. Fronting N Wells Street, the project site is bound by W Chicago Avenue to the north, a public alley and parking lot to the east, and a small parking lot to the south. The property currently consists of a historic masonry structure at 755 N Wells Street that will be retained, a one-story retail structure, and a three-story masonry structure. Vista Property Group is the developer behind the proposal.
