Construction Logistics Meeting Announced For 400 N Lake Shore Drive In Streeterville

A community meeting has been announced to discuss the start of construction for 400 N Lake Shore Drive in Streeterville. Sitting atop of the former Spire site, the two-tower development has been in the works for many years. Most recently a financing meeting was held and now Alderman Reily is running the logistics meeting. The project is being led by Related Midwest who tapped architecture firm SOM for its design.

Facade Work Progresses at 812 W Adams in West Loop

Construction is progressing on a seven-story mixed-use building located at 812 W Adams Street in the West Loop. The building, a project of Luxe Suites Chicago, has reached its full height and the exterior work is ongoing. When finished, the structure will house 80 rental units and offer 4,200 square feet of retail space.

Permit Issued for 1647 W Irving Park Road in Lake View

A permit has been issued for a four-story residential building at 1647 W Irving Park Road in Lake View. This new filing appears to represent an updated proposal following last year’s issuance of a construction permit that is no longer in the Chicago Data Portal.

Hugo Finalizes Construction in River North

Exterior construction has wrapped up for Hugo, a two-building development in the River North neighborhood. These mixed-use structures, located close to each other, represent the latest ventures from developer LG Group. Collectively, the buildings will span a floor area of almost 149,304 square feet. Once finished, they will offer a combined 227 rental apartments. The 751 N Hudson Avenue building will yield 134 units, while its counterpart at 411 W Chicago Avenue will house 93 units. A noteworthy addition to this development is approximately 18,867 square feet of ground-level retail space. An existing two-story building not part of the development is situated between the two main structures.

Signal Processing Plant Approved In Motor Row

Plans for a new signal processing plant at 2348 S Indiana Avenue in Motor Row have been approved by the Permit Review. Located just east of the intersection with S Michigan Avenue directly adjacent to McCormick Place’s west building, the new building replaces a surface parking lot. Led by Louisiana-based Lumen Technologies, the structure is being designed by the local office of global engineering firm EXP.

Permit Issued for 1889 N Milwaukee Avenue in Bucktown

The city has approved a permit for a new mixed-use development located at 1889 N Milwaukee Avenue in Bucktown. The proposed structure will be a three-story building, accommodating six residential units and a commercial space on the first floor. It will also feature a roof deck with an elevator and stair enclosure.

Further Details Revealed For Redevelopment Of Mid-City Bank In West Loop

Updated plans have been revealed for the adaptive reuse of the Mid-City Trust & Savings Bank at 801 W Madison Street in the West Loop. Located on the intersection with N Halsted Street on the northern boundary of Greektown, the proposal has just received approval from the Permit Review Committee this week. Developer ECG Madison LLC is working with Pappageorge Haymes Partners on the curated design.

1043 N Rush Fills Out in Near North Side

The 16-story mixed-use structure at 311 West Huron Street in River North is nearing facade completion. Developed by North Wells Capital, the 226-foot building primarily offers office spaces, with the ground floor designated for retail establishments. Spins has secured the top four office floors with an $88 million lease agreement.
