New Brewery Proposed Near Pullman National Monument

Initial plans have been revealed for a commercial development near the Pullman National Monument in the far South Side. Located near the corners of E 111th Street and S Doty Avenue, the building will replace an empty lot and bring even more life to an area that recently had a hotel and grocery store proposed as well. The developers behind the project are Mark Doyle and Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives who are working with local architecture firm Edafos Studio on the design.

A permit was issued on Tuesday for a new three-story residential building at 5432 S Michigan Avenue in the Washington Park neighborhood. The owner is listed as KPG Chicago LLC and plans indicate this project will yield three dwelling units. The second and third floors are each outfitted with open porches at the rear. The first floor will feature a concrete patio. Plans also show the presence of a detached three-vehicle garage. The development will replace a vacant lot.

Embry Condo Development Passes Third Level in West Loop

Construction has surpassed the third level for Embry, a 15-story condominium development situated at 21 N May Street near the center of West Loop. Planned by Sulo Development, the high rise will contain a total of 58 for-sale units ranging from two- to four-bedroom houses and ranging in size from 1,828 to 5,187 square feet. The construction of this 207-foot-tall building will fill the space of an old, vacant lot where a two-story masonry structure used to stand.
