The Chicago Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP) announced Wednesday the return of the popular Chicago Food Truck Festival at 50 W Washington Street in Daley Plaza. The festival features a rotating selection of food trucks from around the city on Fridays starting May 20th through October 7th. Food trucks will be available from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
The Chicago City Council has approved a residential development at 1805 N Hamlin Avenue in Logan Square as well as an industrial development at 1237 W Division Street in West Town. Both projects were recently approved by the Plan Commission as well late last month, they will now be able to apply for construction permits and schedule a forthcoming groundbreaking. 1805 N Hamlin Avenue is led by developer Latin United Community Housing Association (LUCHA), while 1237 W Division Street is being proposed by logistics developer LPC Division I.
A permit was issued on Tuesday for a three-story residential building located at 6346 S Evans Avenue in the Woodlawn neighborhood. The proposed project’s owner is listed as Keith Lindsay. The scope of the project details three total dwelling units with open wooden decks at the rear. Plans indicate the presence of a three-car parking pad at the rear of the building site. The lot is currently vacant.

As concrete and steel continue to rise, the podium is now taking shape for a planned 73-story residential tower known as 1000M, located at 1000 S Michigan Avenue in South Loop. At a revised height of 788 feet, the skyscraper is currently one of Chicago’s tallest active construction projects, helping to expand city’s skyline further south. After a 20-month stall, developer trio JK Equities, Time Equities, and Oak Capitals have updated their condominium plans to 738 rental units, ranging in size from studios up through three-bedrooms.
