An official groundbreaking has been held for the mixed-use development at 1134 S Wood Street in the Illinois Medical District. Located near the intersection with W Roosevelt Road, it replaces an existing surface parking lot belonging to one of the developers. That being the Chicago Lighthouse, a local non-profit, who is partnering with Brinshore Development and Landon Bone Baker Architects on the first-of-its-kind building.

Updated Plans Revealed for Two-Building Development in Logan Square

New plans have been unveiled for twin mixed-use buildings at 2354 and 2355 N Washtenaw Avenue in Logan Square. This 67-foot-tall duo will house a total of 3,500 square feet of retail, 20 apartments in 2354 N Washtenaw Avenue, and 15 apartments in 2355 N Washtenaw Avenue. This latest 35-unit scope comes at the heels of two previous versions put forward by Hibernian Development, one of which consisted of 27 total units, the other with 48 total units.

A permit was approved early this week for a new three-story residential building at 1422 E 66th Place in the Woodlawn neighborhood. The owner is listed as Woodlawn Station LLC, and the current plans indicate this project will yield three total dwelling units with an open rear staircase as well as a rear concrete patio. The project will also feature a three-vehicle parking pad at the rear. The lot is currently vacant. This is a sister build to that of 1424 E 66th Place.

Since July’s update, foundation work has made extensive progress for Sterling Bay’s mixed-use development at 360 N Green Street in Fulton Market District. Initial details have been revealed for a potential off-shore wind farm near 3600 E 95th Street in the East Side community area. Located near the Illinois International Port District close to the state line with Indiana, the new proposal seeks to create the first facility of its kind on the Great Lakes ahead of other states vying for the opportunity. The plans were introduced by State Representatives Marcus Evans Jr. and Robert Peters at a neighborhood meeting this past week in hopes of getting locals on board.
