The Arlington 425 project in downtown Arlington Heights has recently received a six-month construction-related extension from the Village Board. The extension, approved on April 15, extends the deadline for the proposed mixed-use development from May 3 to November 3. The development will eventually contain a combined total of 319 residential units and approximately 7,500 square feet of commercial space alongside 479 parking spots.
The Chicago City Council has officially approved the landmark designation of the Apollo’s 2000 theater at 2875 W Cermak Road in Little Village. Sitting near the intersection with S Marshall Boulevard, the Commission on Chicago Landmarks issued its final landmark recommendation earlier this year.
A renovation permit has been issued for a two-story, two-dwelling unit building located at 2933 West Lexington Street in Lawndale. The permit, which was issued on April 22, allows for interior alterations, replacement of interior finishes, and upgrades to the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for the property.
Renderings have been revealed as part of the groundbreaking for the major renovation of Terminal 3 at O’Hare International Airport. News on the work broke over a year ago when it began collecting funding for the added space and updated aesthetic. The project is being led by the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) with an undisclosed set of designers and engineers.
The Saint Grand, a mixed-use development at 218 E Grand in Streeterville, has opened for residents. The project, led by Mavrek Development, GW Properties, Luxury Living, and Double Eagle Development, was topped off in August 2023. The building was designed by NORR and constructed by Lendlease. The building also offers 7,500 square feet of retail space and a bike room for residents and office tenants.
