More than 24 months after a new construction permit was issued to replace it, a 1905-built residence in Ravenswood has been reduced to rubble. Bricks to salvage and memories to cherish are all that remain at 4317 North Paulina Street ahead of redevelopment for eight new units on the site.
Updated plans have been revealed for a residential development at 1453 North Sedgwick Street in the Near North Side. Located at the intersection with West Blackhawk Street, the proposal would replace a pair of three-story homes across from the Marshall Field Garden Apartments.
The pending doom of demolition fencing surrounds the Ravenswood Presbyterian Church at 4300 North Hermitage Avenue in the Ravenswood neighborhood. Sources confirm that a developer plans to tear down the 110-year-old church and replace it with a half-dozen or so single-family homes.
A six-unit residential building was permitted by the city on October 15 for 5328 South Indiana Avenue in Washington Park. It will stand next to a second building with an identical permit that remains pending in the Chicago Data Portal for 5326 South Indiana. Both are being developed by Famor LLC.
Initial massing concepts have been revealed for the residential development of the Emanuel Congregation at 5959 North Sheridan Road in Edgewater. Perched on the lakefront next to Lane Beach, the well-known synagogue currently on the site dates back to 1955 and is launching a major redevelopment campaign for its campus.
