When last we checked on 4317 North Paulina Street in Ravenswood in October, a 1905-built greystone on the site had been mostly reduced to rubble. A crew was on hand to sort and salvage pallet loads of bricks from the old building, while stone accoutrement from the façade and other items from the structure awaited removal. Demolition was permitted on October 7 and carried out by Builder Luxury of Willowbrook.
A vacant corner lot on the northeast corner of West Douglas Boulevard and South Spaulding Avenue will soon be improved with a pair of two-story plus basement, two-unit residential buildings. At 3254 West Douglas in North Lawndale, a permit was issued to developer and general contractor M Street Construction of Oak Park on November 25. A second permit remains pending in the Chicago Data Portal to build next door at 3256 West Douglas.
Additional interior renderings have been revealed for the upcoming Bally’s Casino at 777 West Chicago Avenue in River West. The massive construction project is already well underway at the intersection with North Halsted Street, recently seeing a crane jump for the hotel structure along the southern end of the site.
Foundation work below grade is underway for a multi-unit residential building at 2341 West St. Paul Avenue in Wicker Park. V & M Development of Evanston got a permit to get started for the three story plus basement, four-unit project on September 9. They filed their application on July 17, and it came through with a reported cost of just over $1.5 million.
Zoning has been approved for the residential conversion of 56 East Superior Street in River North. Sitting mid-block between North Rush Street and North Wabash Avenue, the conversion of the office-loft building was first announced earlier this summer after years of litigation on the site over a previous skyscraper proposal.
