Upon its completion in 2024, the skyscraper will be the second tallest in the broader West Loop district at a height of 495 feet, with 727 W Madison surpassing it by just a foot. Co-developers Related Midwest and Tucker Development planned for 300 for-rent apartment units atop a ground-floor retail component.

Permits were issued yesterday for a new residential build located at 1547 N Wieland Street in the Old Town neighborhood. The permit owner is listed as Western Development Group. The four-story development will comprised eight units and a below-grade basement parking garage. Plans show that there will be front balconies on the second through fourth stories as well as rear metal porches on all levels. There will be an outdoor stair that will extend to a rooftop deck and enclosure. The site is currently a parking lot. The developers have a twin construction at 1543 N Wieland Street.

The John Buck Company has proposed a major two-tower office development at 655 W Madison Street, set to replace a full-block surface parking lot in West Loop Gate. The development will be staggered, beginning with the taller of the two towers. This first tower will stand 36 stories and span 850,000 square feet. The subsequent shorter tower will encompass 650,000 square feet and link to the taller edifice via a shared five-story podium.
