Zoning has been fully approved for the upcoming mixed-use hotel development at 3257 North Halsted Street in Lake View. Located at the corner of West Aldine Avenue, in the heart of North Halsted/Boystown, the LGBTQ+-focused proposal was originally revealed last year by developer Allan O’Brien, who also owns Men’s Room Chicago down the street.
A permit has been issued by the city of Chicago to erect a four-story, 14-unit building on the northwest corner of Normal Avenue and 26th Street in Bridgeport. The permit, addressed as 2552 South Normal Avenue, was applied for on May 13, 2024 and issued on September 24. It comes with a reported cost of $1.2 million.
Plans have been revealed for a residential development at 1201 West Kinzie Street within Fulton Market. Located on the corner of North Racine Avenue, the project would replace a narrow, wedge-shaped vacant lot bordered by the Metra tracks to the south. The development is being led by LG Group.
Construction progress has reached the second floor on the masonry two-unit residential building at 3740 North Racine Avenue in Lake View. General contractor Desmond Builders is doing the brick work and adding stone accents as the structure rises.
Very initial details have been revealed for a potential mixed-use development at 1039 North Crosby Street in the Near North Side. The project would rise on the corner with West Hobbie Street near the former site of Cabrini Green by the North Branch Canal. Efforts are being led by Park Community Church.
