A 12-unit apartment building has topped out in Lake View at 904 West Dakin Street just north of Wrigley Field on Chicago’s north side. The city issued a construction permit for the new development on August 23 of this year. It replaces a multi-unit frame home at 906 West Dakin built in 1888 that was sold in 2022 and demolished in the spring of this year.
A permit for interior renovation of an existing two-story, two-unit multi-family residential building has been issued at 3429 West Harrison Street in East Garfield Park. The application process began on October 30, and the permit was issued on December 26 after 57 days.
Permits have been issued for the mixed-use development at 1101 W Berwyn Avenue on the southern end of Edgewater. Located on the corner with N Winthrop Avenue, in September we covered the project’s approval after a design change from its original proposal a while back. Since then there has been additional alterations.
Demolition work at 2125 North Racine Avenue in Lincoln Park has laid waste to all but the foundation of the former multi-residence building here. Soon to be replaced by a new three-story two-flat development, the masonry structure received a demolition permit on November 21 of this year, with Builder Luxury assigned the task of razing the building.
A new construction permit has been issued for a three-story, six-unit residential building at 3950 South Indiana Avenue in Bronzeville. The permit, which was applied for on December 6 and issued on December 27, took 21 days to process.
