A construction permit has been issued by the City of Chicago to fill in the empty lot at 6442 North Francisco Avenue in West Ridge. Landex Holding Company LLC filed for the approval on August 1, and it came through November 20th with a reported cost of $440,000.
Details have been announced for a new pocket park to be built within the Illinois Medical District (IMD) at 2023 West Ogden Avenue. The triangular-shaped park will be bounded by South Damen Avenue to the east and West Polk Street to the south. It is being led by the Illinois Medical District Commission, which is working with Site Design Group.
Permits have now been secured for all four single-family residences to be built on the site of the vacant church and school on North Richmond Street in Logan Square. Both of those structures are now being demolished ahead of the lot’s redevelopment.
Continuing the string of updates from this month’s Plan Commission meeting, the commission has approved the second phase of the residential redevelopment and expansion of the Lourdes School in Uptown. Located at 4641 North Ashland Avenue, this second phase will replace a vacant parking lot just north of the former schoolhouse.
Foundation work has begun on a five-story, 48-unit residential building at 750 West North Avenue on the southern edge of Lincoln Park. Developer Base 3 got a permit to begin construction on September 22, and now pile and excavation work is evident from the Brown Line tracks snaking around the site.
